what're ye readin'

How long since the last one of these? Too soon? I've had a Vonnegut binge: Galapagos was the first thing I'd read by him, and while good, fely a little bit undernourished. A good story spun a little thin, I thought.
Sirens of Titan though: AWESOME. Fun, stupid, sad, ridiculous. Rumfoord's yodelling voice! Kazahk, the Hound of Space!
Mother Night was murderous: not a single punch pulled. Absolutely, resolutely grim humour. And maybe the best thing I've read for some time. I've got an instant desire to go back to it.

Just starting Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy; I'm in for a rollercoaster of nihilisitc violence and despair, right?
