So, in 5 days time i turn 18 and can legally get a tattoo.
I have been interested in doing so for some time now and if i was to get one i would get one of a burrowing owl because it is the symbol of Athene (the Latin of owl being loosely based around the word Athene) and i really like owls too.
I don't have any doubts apart from that people who might have found me attractive wont anymore.
I quite fancy the idea though of telling my kids why i got it and having something to show for my teenage years.

Um, so i need some advice (baring in mind i have done no research yet and do need to think long and hard)
Can you get ones that last for 5 years?
How much does it really hurt (about 2 inches by 2 inches and on the on the inside of my left forearm)?
Shall i stop being a pansy and just get on with it?
How much should i be prepared to pay?

Any advice you would give ('its really gross so dont' etc)
