...i saw this mentioned in the Jesse James thread and it reminded me to post about it...

Watched it for the first time on Friday and what a film! It is my opinion that Daniel Day lewis is the best actor ever. Anyone else agree? I'm no authority on acting ability etc., but every one of his performances is so bloody intense that he totally 'makes' any movie he's in. The only negative to this is that he makes co-actors appear average, which may sometimes detract from the overall performance. Having said that, the priest bloke in there will be blood (who was very good in little miss sunshine also) put in an amazing performance too. The only slightly disappointing thing about the movie was the score which was nowhere near as good as had been made out, aside from the end piece...
