Well it looks like there might be sniff of this in the air at work, which isn't so bad really.

But what really pisses me off is the Government requirements: You're entitled to one week's pay for every year you've worked there, but they've capped a week's pay at £280!

What the fuck? Obviously your employer could generously give you more but they're in no way obliged to. Why on earth put a cap at just under 15K a year wages, especially given you're not even entitled to this pay out until you've been working there for two years while over the age of 18.

It makes little sense to me. Bastards...
