Eek! My holiday buddy has pulled out of our trip, citing a depressing bank balance, with only 3 weeks left to our planned hoilday.

However, I'm determined to get away, even if on my own. So DiSers, has anyone any suggestions of good places in Europe for me to visit for a week? I need ideas! Bear in mind that I'm going to be on my own, so the emphasis is not on nightlife.

By the way, Amsterdam is not going to go on my shortlist...
