With 24 hour news channels and the proliferation of online news sources, you'd think that the mainstream television channels would drop some of their news content. In fact, it would appear to have risen, with news updates inbetween TV programmes, on specialist music radio stations, etc. Even ITV4 has 3o seconds of "entertainment news" in the middle of films - like anyone wants to know this crap.
