Holiday Horror Stories...
...I went to Cyprus a few years back with a so called friend, we had a big disagreement on arrival so I decided to spend the rest of the week on my own and went off to another hotel which I had to pay an extra £100 for!
I met up with a girl who was also on her own and we went on a couple of day trips on a catamaran and spent some time in Ayia Napa. One day walking round the Ayia Napa with her I developed sunstroke really badly. I had to get back to my hotel quickly but unfortunately ended up waiting nearly an hour for a bus which took an hour to get back, then I had a half hour walk to the hotel. I thought I was either going to pass out or throw up. I eventually managed to get back to my apartment and passed out on the bed. I couldn't even move to undress or anything. After a few hours of intense sweating I managed to get up and got in the shower still dressed. I woke up the next day feeling like shit but started feeling better.
Because of the spending I had done with this girl I ran out of cash and the nearest cash point was miles away. I started running out of food and bottled water and I had 4 days left. After a day of no food or drink I got ill again, the heat was so intense. I started hallucinating because I was so dehydrated. I was convinced I was still on the catamaran but was confused because I thought the hotel was actually on the catamaran too! I looked out of the window and also thought the roads and the restaurant were also on the boat! I felt like I was swaying and I could see my sunglasses on my face and tried to take them off but they weren't there! At one point I'm sure I was talking to myself!
Anyway, I realised later on that I could pay the hotel for all inclusive and paid with my credit card for the last 3 days so managed to eat and drink.
Also because of my fall out with my friend I didnt want to get the same flight back so booked another flight which cost £100 to Newcastle. The stupid fucking rep booked me on a flight to Manchester instead and by the time I realised it was too late to change, so when I went home I was stuck in Manchester airport for 4 hours waiting for a train to Newcastle which cost me another £50.
Apart from all the crap that happened it wasn't a bad holiday but I don't think I would ever go abroad on my own again!
Anyone else had a memorable holiday?
