At a naval air base near Falmouth I have a question about a word my socially obsessed grandmother threw around.
My godmother comes from a fairly privileged background as does her husband who is a Naval Captain. We went to dinner with their very senior friends from the navy who were also clearly privileged too and after wards my grandma said they were very 'U' and other people and actions were very 'Non-U'.
What on earth is she talking about?
