Entitlement to tips at work...

thephotobooth [Edit] [Delete] 10:22, 31 July '08

The place I used to work in used to save up all the tips so that when there was a substantial amount, all the employees could go out for a meal together - seems like a reasonable idea. I worked there for five months, and we never went on this meal thing, and in my final wages, there's no accounting for or mention of tips - is this worth bringing up with my old boss? I know there was a change in the law today about businesses no longer being allowed to use tips to top up wages to the minimum wage (and rightly so), but is there any law detailing that you have a legal entitlement to your share of the tips?
