I reckon if Gordo sorted himself out and stopped vanishing into a ball of grumpy self doubt and tried to really do something to tackle the economy he might even be able to scrape home in the next general election.
Not necessarily that this would be the best thing that could happen, but I think he could do it. Only just.

Really do something as in not just tinker with some tax credit system that makes the rituals and traditions of castle gormenghast look like a beacon of clarity, ease and openness.
