Today I bought the Big Issue off a charming young lady. I handed over £2 (didn't get my 50p change) then got chatting to her about the dog that accompanied her... Apparently the dogs owner had died the week before, when she told me how she had acquired it the reason was... The previous owner had been her neighbour! She said "Oh yeah, I'm not really homeless, you don't have to be to sell the Big Issue. Common misconception." She then went on to explain how she doesnt get the dole anymore because she sells this magazine. She had all the right ID to be an official retailer... Wtf you don't need to be homeless to sell it? Is this true?
After getting called a twat by another big issue seller after saying "no thanks" to him, I am starting to have serious doubts about this publication.
