What's the best way to move your stuff from one flat to another in London?

Lucien [Edit] [Delete] 12:45, 22 July '08

I don't know anyone who owns a car, and in the past when I've either had hardly any possessions, or the new place has been close enough that I could walk it or take a quick tube ride.

Now I own a lot more stuff, and I'm moving from Shepherds Bush to Shoreditch so I'm not overly keen on a rickety 45 minute trip each way, hunched on the Hammersmith & City Line clutching a rubbish bag full of my underwear and red nu-rave pants.

Is a taxi a good idea? I'm thinking hiring a moving van would look ridiculous for the amount of stuff I'm shifting....
