I haven't listened to it yet but from the description it could be DiS Heaven.

"Broadcaster and journalist David Quantick celebrates the home-produced compilation cassette, a disappearing art form in an age when music can be readily downloaded. Contributors include novelist Iain Banks and poet Simon Armitage. A professor of medieval history recalls how he sustained a 30-year friendship with an HMV store manager by exchanging tapes every month. Elbow's Guy Garvey explains how his sister Becky inspired his musical career with the many cassettes she compiled for him."
