in the park at lunch time, i saw a pretty much massively overweight man trying to get to his feet with very little grace to say the least.
As I arrived he was on all fours and panting, I thought he might be having a heart attack or something, but then I saw he was just trying to stand up.
It took him ages, maybe about 45 seconds, and he was trying all sorts to achieve it: rolling on his back and thrusting his upper body forwards; using a tree as a holding post; getting on one knee and stepping upwards (proved to be the most risky). All seemed a gargantuan effort.
I didn't know whether to help him or not - in his position what would you have found more insulting/embarassing - help or no help?
