Handing in your notice...

Brooner [Edit] [Delete] 13:51, 9 July '08

without a job lined up to go to, is this really stupid or the way to give yourself a kick up the arse to get a new job?

I've a two month notice period, and with company restructuring my current job is completely changing departments & bosses and will be going to be going from being quite shitty, with some pluses, to just plain shitty (probably, as they've yet to decide on what the actual role will entail) on the 1st of October.

My boss told me all this yesterday, and she's no longer going to be my boss, and advised me to start having a look for new jobs as she is now doing (she's getting messed around too).

So, should I hand in my notice and be free in September, with the knowledge that I must get a new job by then? Or wait it out a bit longer, find out exactly what is happening?

I'm really tempted to hand in my notice, as I don't think they'll replace me before the restructuring takes place and it will completely fuck them over. They're already not replacing one of my colleagues who leaves this week, and her work is just completely up in the air until October and somehow meant to just happen.
