should disableds be allowed to compete with ableds?

douchebag [Edit] [Delete] 21:09, 5 March '08

there's a programme on channel 5 now about Oscar Pistorius, a dude with no legs who has been competing with legged people (and not really doing too well). But surely the technology for artificial running legs is going to improve more quickly than the human body will evolve, so eventualy the no legs are going to be more speedy than the legs. So, when does this become an "unfair advantage"? When they start becoming better than non-disabled people? In which case, why let them compete?

I'm not watching the show btw, my mum has got Rock Rivals on instead. But i used to work for a prosthetics company and they were always going on about the guy
