Does anyone understands how trains work?

Comrade_Penguin [Edit] [Delete] 04:34, 5 March '08

Me and a friend have decided we'd like some crazy golf, rubbish teas, arcades etc so we're going to the seaside. Hastings is one of the options but the fares confuse me rather.

If we go from charring cross or victoria it is £22.80 however there is this thing called a price buster ticket at £13.50 with the usual travel after 11 or at weekends or during peak afternoon hours. Fine. However this only seems to apply if your going from Hastings to London and not the other way round even if the journey is identical. Basically trains = rubbish.

Anyone more experienced in the way of Southern Railways who can teach me.
