when you have no idea about anything to do with harmonicas - pretty tricky?

Its my girlfriends birthday next week and she once mentioned that she always wanted to play the harmonica, so i figured it might make a nice little gift. But i know nothing about whats good to get. HALP!

Does anyone know what a good type of harmonica is good for a beginner?

And what are those things called that you can get to hold the harmonica in front of your mouth so you can play guitar at the same time?

And should I try and find a music shop, or do you lovely people reckon buying online would be ok?
