Another gig etiquette rant

roastthemonaspit [Edit] [Delete] 13:19, 28 February '08

Last night I went to see Tujiko Noriko at Bush Hall. It was a good bill with 3 really good support bands. Everyone was sat on the floor which usually grates on me but last night it seemed suitable.

When Tujiko came on, a couple in front of me talked constantly throughout her first song. I tried to ignore it but the music is so delicate and their voices SO LOUD that it made it pretty difficult. I asked them to keep it down, to which I got a reply of "We'll stop when she stops making that music" - and then went on to vent a rant about how it wasn't "real music" because it was on a laptop. When i suggested she went to the bar she tried to make out I was being rude. IRONYOMETER OVERLOAD. Then for the rest of the gig they continued to do this, as if the past 20 years hadn't happened and electronic music was some new weird thing that only keraaaaaaazy Japanese women did. A lot of people left half way, but at least they didn't voice their venom about it whilst doing so.

This was her first UK gig and she deserved a hell of a lot better than that. CUNTS.

End of rant.
