queuing for gigs

nice_squirrel [Edit] [Delete] 11:11, 13 March '07

at 8.15 this morning, there were three kids outside the London Astoria, waiting for Stone Sour tonight. There are now about 25. Why are they there so early? How can this possibly be worth it?

I went to see the Long Blondes in the same venue the other week, was there at 7.30, and until about 9.30 I could have strolled right to the front. This was a sold out show.

The only gigs which have people there WAY before it opens seem to be the metal/emo ones which attract a lot of under 18s. Why is this?

I do remember queuing from 5.30 for Manic Street Preachers in Hereford when I was 15, which seems excessive now, but even then, getting there in the morning would have seemed ludicrous.
