Haha, I know, a serious thread.

I watched a bit on him on Newsnight last night. Seems an interesting character. I don't know as much about French politics as I used to.

The way I see it, it is far more polarised than British politics. Royal and Sarkozy seem poles apart.

Despite the fact that traditionally I would hate Sarkozy and love Royal, I can't help thinking he has a more realistic approach to the current situation in France (9% unemployment, etc)

Now the bets are on that I will be talking to myself.
