Bluffing vs Honesty

theguywithnousername [Edit] [Delete] 01:01, 6 March '07

Somehow or other, over the last few weeks, I've managed to get two possible invitations to two different universities to talk to students about two different subjects that two different people I know seem to think I'm some kind of authority on.

Flattered though I am by these invitations, I think both people (one in particular) are wrong (although, in both cases, it probably true that I would maybe know a little bit more than an undergrad student) but, at the same time, it does sound like an intriguing opportunity.

So here's my question:
If you were invited to a university to talk to students as an expert on the subject they're studying (assuming you had just about enough knowledge on subject to get by but not much more than that) would you do it?
