So I got a new phone yesterday, and its an offline contract phone. The contract was with t-mobile, so I got a T-Mobile sim pack, but it keeps coming up as 'unregistered sim' on the screen.

Do you have to register with T-Mobile? Or will I have to get it unlocked in a dodgy shop?
