I have returned from my travels and find myself in need of a laptop computer to accompany me on further travels

I was in the Apple store in Michigan Avenue in Chicago and looking at a swanky Apple laptop for $2000 or $2500 with a faster CPU or something. It had a 120gb hard drive which was appealing. I was then in Schipol airport the day before yesterday looking at a Sony laptop with a 160gb hardrive for about £900ish. I was up visiting a friend today and she had a new laptop with a 30gb hard drive she got for £350

I need something kind of inbetween these, large hard drive, although I'll carry a 250gb external, fast cpu etc. It's after spending way too much money in internet cafes in America and a 60gb portable card reader/hard drive going wonky on me and I've got 14gb of photos in limbo in it including three concerts from San Francisco/Oakland (Islands/Xiu Xiu/Erase Errata). After this I'm not taking the risk of losing photos like this again. Also I bought a new camera bag which has a laptop compartment therefore I must aquire said laptop before the shame hangs too heavy over me for me to not face disgrace, exile, ruin and suicide
