I was just about to leave for uni this morning and there was a knock on the door. A vaguely recognised the blonde woman standing before me

"Just thought I'd let you know that I'm moving back in with Greg. Me and Alan just wasn't working out. So if I don't see you, that's what's happened"

"erm, OK"

Apparently she lives next door. I've never spoken to her in the two years I've lived here, and yet she felt is necessary to fill me in on her love life. The only thing I know about my neighbours on the other side is that they're old, and that they found my cat when he fucked off for three days

Do people even speak to their neighbours anymore? Or am I just a social recluse?
