The people on this board who are in bands/ are musicians, did you do music lessons at school or university? Or did you just decide either on your own or with some mates, that doing music would be a cool thing to do?

When I was at school it was always the geeks and posho's who did music (and I was one of them) and it always seemed strange to me that when I see a rock star swaggering around being 'bad boy' or 'cool', that they were probably the least hip kid at school and this is their revenge.
