Don't you hate it when someone can remain quiet and respectful of someone elses opinion but instead decides it's THEIR PLACE to eat away at the excitement of someone else. I know I'm far from a saint and I've been guilty of this a few times but don't you think if someone does it constantly and consistently, they're actually putting more bad into the world than good?

Should we encourage new posters to say "I don't like this but if you do like this you should also check out this band" or "I don't like this because it's a crap version of X, so check them out instead."

What IS a better way?
A way that makes the boards less negative. DiS shouldn't be about bickering it should be about loving music and supporting the music scene, not needlessly but so that there is a focus on what IS good. I know messageboards shouldn't deliver anything but freedom and the chaos which comes with it but am sick of some peoples attitudes on here and how much it puts people off joining in the conversation. Anyone else sick of it?
