What's the best London venue

To host a small gig? ie. 93 Feet East is too large, as is the Purple Turtle. I'm concerned about:
Hiring the place won't cost a bomb.
Needs to be central-ish or in Camden, not Brixton, New Cross or Kilburn.
I can possibly get it on a Friday/Sat night.

Any ideas?
