actually, it's been raining all day, but... y'know.

hello from a very wet Washington DC! i got here and everything has actually worked out well so far, which is nice.
so far... erm, i went a bit toby-ish on saturday night after arriving, and got very drunk with some trainee lawyers i met in the bowery ballroom, and watched okkervil river and some guy called elvis perkins, who was pretty cool in a dylan-esque way. sunday i caught a train to DC, and it went across new jersey (flat, grey, looks like the south of england but with more chemical plants) and through philadelphia, which was really pretty. then i went to see jenny lewis in the 9:30 club, which it turned out is in the proper ghetto part of town. niiiiice. today i went to the holocaust museum, which was quite the depressing experience, especially at 11am on a rainy tuesday, so i cheered myself up this afternoon by going to the national history smithsonian museum and saw the DINOSAURS and lots of creepy stuffed animals. that was pretty cool.
later on i'm going to see art brut + the spinto band + tokyo police adventures (or whatever they're called) at the black cat, which is also in the ghetto part of town but is part owned by dave grohLOL, and he wouldn't wish me any harm, would he?
