About once a week I get home from work to hear cries of 'Buy any spare tickets!' from the tube station entrance.

Then follows a small crowd in the street, lots of non-locals in the pub on the corner, and I try to guess what the band playing is purely from the appearance of the attendees.

Today it was peaches. I didn't guess right away but it was quite obvious really. Lots of rather tired-looking Le-Tigre-fan-meets-half-assed-electroclash-throwback types, and students.

Other times it's been crowds of leather-clad bikers and goths, rugby-shirted lads...
