as I *may* have mentioned earlier, I was forced to go see King Lear in russian tonight at the Barbican for my drama degree.

I'm not going to talk about how bored I was because, quite frankly, it's boring. What I wanted to share is my despair at the immaturity of my fellow students.

A man got naked, (OMGLOLZ!!!11!!!!) and the three rows we students were in erupted in giggles, one wolf whistle and loud whispering that went on for atleast 1o minutes. Wow, a naked man, get over it! I would think that 18/19 year old students studying drama would be a little more 'grown up' about seeing this kind of thing. I was embarassed to be a part of the group. Later on 4 men get naked, again the same reaction. what do you need to talk about?! have u never seen a naked man before?

Then in the interval one of the girls I was sat with asked me "why did he need to get naked?!" so i started to explain how he had been saying about (roughly, im no shakespeare quoter, 'cept romeo and juliet) 'must become the lowest of forms, base creature' etc so I start trying to explain this and also in the comtext of what was going on in the play at that moment she obviously didnt want to actually learn cos she just started giggling and laughing hehehehehehe. I was like, er ooook then.
