House parties?

There was a period (which also rather annoyingly coincided with the geeky socially-inept phase of my life, 15-16) where someone was having one every other week, but now I'm vaguely sociable no one is having them.

I almost cry these days when someone has a birthday and just goes down the pub or, even worse hires some horrid hall out for a party.

Having said all that I am going to a flat party next week.
