Or was it one big propaganda stunt?

I did one of my dissertations on the Apollo missions but at the time I never really questioned whether it was genuine or not (even though my whole angle was that it was 'the establishing myth of America as post-war superpower') but the more I think about things like 9/11 the more sceptical I become
