Crab's Apples: #1 - 'Discovery'
Today I am eating a 'Discovery' Apple. I purchased this apple from Sainsbury's Local within London's Paddington train station for 13p.
The apple has an initial burst of slightly soured flavour - reminiscent of an English summer garden.
The nose retains a lot of the flavour of its parent fruit, the Cox.
As my consumption of said apple continues, the slightly dry skin provides the perfect accompaniment to the crunchy, juicy flesh.
This apple was a most excellent purchase and certainly justifies its break away from the Cox's brand. A sweetly sour experience and one I'd recommend highly.
