when you have people round who you don't really know, and speak a different language. It makes for shit conversation. I've been learning french for 5 years, but they speak so damn fast that you can't hear what they're saying. Then they stare at you for awhile awaiting a response.

Of course, the obvious response to that is to do the same to them....

I mean it's funny for awhile, but then it just gets irritating. I should have paid more attention in my French class...
