as he's not here, i don't think. my laptop keyboard's gone bonkers, in that the 'v' key appears to be stuck - i've removed the key and i think something might have got into the little rubbery thing it sits on, or it might have rusted or something (whether this is related to a large glass of wine sprinkled liberally over about 10 months ago, i wouldn't care to comment).

i have a usb keyboard to plug into the laptop, and it appears to work fine but it doesn't override my laptop keyboard, so everything i try to type is punctuated by millions of v's. does anyone know how to override the laptop keyboard totally, if this is actually possible.
