My fave is 'the fall' - sorry autumn - who could not like September with its valient attempts at one last shot of summer glory as the leaves paint themselves golden only to carpet our paths and parks with a crinkly collective eiderdown of their dying selves, for us to walk heartily though, wading up to our ankles in a carefree reassuring crunchy path as we amble off before the drawing nights catch us unaware.
