i haven't used my computer in a year as due to various reasons i didn't have all the connecting cables.

it sat in my room all year (Not in the sun)

and so, i get the cables and connect it all back up. it's all a whirring and normal and then.... the screen stops.

it gets to a black page with white writing on, the first one after the initial page with the yellow drawing thingy in the top right hand corner.

i can't remember what it says as i'm not with my computer now, but it's like, lists of the hardware or something. no button works except ctrlaltdel which... just resets it.

my mate thought it might be the harddrive so he took it away to check.

any other suggestions????
