Hello. We're looking for a bass player that likes melody focussed indie/alt/misery fuelled smile inducing folk (well, 'folk', as in played on acoustic guitars with a violin)!

We like lots of stuff: Cherbourg, Beirut, Cat Power, Broken Social Scene, The XX, Smashing Pumpkins, Bon Iver... and more.

At the moment we are 2/3 guitars, violin and male / female vocals. We are looking for a bass player that is happy to play when the songs need it, and that has a good idea of how bass movement can take songs to another place, even at its simplest.

We done some gigging but we’re now looking to move our sound from its current acoustic focus to something a bit fuller (and are quite keen to have a nucleus band set up, with loads of other contributions as and when the songs feel they need it).

Age and gender not an issue - We’ve all been in several bands before and are all around 30 mark just so you know but anyone who is dedicated and enthusiastic would be brilliant.

Also, singing bassists doubly welcome (but not an prerequisite!)

The only people we aren’t after would be bounce funk extraordinaires! As good as they are, it’s certainly not us.
