The band with the ever transient lineup 4 or 5 Magicians - www.myspace.com/4or5magicians - requires a new skinbasher!

Basically we're in a mild pickle as we have a tour in October booked, and our current drummer has just been unexpectedly promoted at his proper job and he can no longer take the time off.

We do have a backup plan involving the drummer of our touring partners so none of the dates are in jeopardy, but a more permanent solution, or even just someone else who can play the tour (even if you can't commit beyond that) would be better, so the other guy doesn't die of exhaustion!

The dates are 13th to 20th October and call at Kingston, London, Brighton, Bristol, Bournemouth, Birmingham, Manchester and Nottingham. There are also two warm up dates on 23rd and 27th September in London and Brighton respectively. Everything is sorted for the tour which is a co-headline of sorts between ourselves and the excellent Ace Bushy Striptease - www.myspace.com/acebushystriptease .

A bit of info on the band :

- The band is currently based in Brighton and South London. Can rehearse in either.

- We are on the roster of highly regarded indie label Smalltown America, whose other bands include Jetplane Landing, Fighting With Wire, Ice Sea Dead People, La Faro, And So I Watch You From Afar, Let Our Enemies Beware, Alan MX, Illness, The Moi Non Plus, This Town Needs Guns, and other ace bands.

- Our debut album 'Empty, Derivative Pop Songs' was released last November, and gained a stack of glowing reviews, including scoring 9/10 and beating the legendary Shirley Bassey in a head to head for album of the week in The Irish Times.

- Influences are wide ranging, but main obvious ones come from the late 80s / early 90s American indie rock scene - Guided By Voices, REM, The Replacements, Sebadoh, Pavement, Archers Of Loaf, Nirvana etc.

- The drumming isn't difficult, mainly just 4/4 indie rock, but you will need to be steady and a competent live performer with previous experience. Also being fun and not a cock would be nice!
