London: Indie Rock duo looking for musicians for summer promotion mini tour
Swedish indie rock songwriting duo Swimfaster Godwhispers are looking for musicians to join their live setup.
Our newest release 'Kolossus (Season Two)' is presented in a season format - a new single every week, 15 weeks in a row - and the season premiere is July 4th, 2010. To promote this release, we will play a handful of London dates during the summer, at some of the slightly better venues (example: Water Rats, Luminaire, Camden Barfly, etc).
We would rehearse a 30 minute set during July and then do 4-5 gigs throughout August-September. After that we would have to see what happens, but the minimum involvement would be rehearsals and then 4-5 gigs.
We're looking for a bass player and a couple of multi-instrumentalists who can play either guitar as main instrument and keyboard as a second instument, or vice versa. This is because we alternate alot between guitar parts and key parts.
You would need your own equipment, and it would have to be fitting with our sound and style. We use a lot of vintage stuff on our recordings and live, so it has to fit into that bracket. We have a vintage P-bass available in the band to use. For keyboard players, the real deal when it comes to Moog, Rhodes, B4 or Mellotron would be best case scenario of course, but if not we could just use software.
Secondly, we need people who:
A - are experienced when it comes to tour, live and being in a gigging band. SFGW has been around for years, and it's a highly pro outfit in terms of how it's run and presented (at the business end of things).
B - understands their equipment. This is also part of having the necessary live experience. We don't have techs or roadies when we play the London scene, so you have to be able to solve problems on the fly.
C - lives music. Act, behave, dress, breathe indie rock. This is not a demo act.
For more information, contact us. For obvious reasons we can't give out the new material yet, but you can find songs from our first season on MySpace (even though the audio quality there sucks).
Keep in mind that stuff from Season One is almost three years old, and everything SFGW on the web right now is kinda sparse in anticipation of Season Two.
