(London) Guitarist wanted for DEE DEE RAMONE tribute band.
Hi gang,
As my originals project is moving along so slowly, I want to put together a tribute band in the meantime, with the intent of gigging ASAP, before I really do need a Teenage Lobotomy (and believe you me I am not far off!) And who better to emulate than your hero?
So, I am looking for a Johnny Ramone. What I have in mind is a 3-piece wall of noise ensemble, , with classic and obscure Ramones songs, and a couple of Dee Dee's solo songs thrown in there too. If you want to sing as well - be it lead /andor b. vocals - fantastic!
I'll of course be filling Dee Dee's shoes on bass guitar and vocals, and do rather a convincing job of it! (1,2,3,4!) I could play guitar, but I figure it'd be easier to just find a guitar player.
I'm really looking for someone who is a big Ramones fan, and knows the songs inside out, so some polished jams can happen straight away.
Here's a rough setlist I compiled last night. It's not fixed, but should give a rough impression of what I had in mind: (in chronological order)

BORN TO DIE IN BERLIN
FIX YOURSELF UP
BORN TO LOSE (JOHNNY THUNDERS COVER)
SUMMERTIME BLUES (EDDIE COCHRAN COVER, Dee Dee possibly never covered this, but it'd work really well as a Ramones song.)
Any other instruments are welcome (and encouraged) to get in touch too, provided of course you can play the songs straight off! age, gender, technical ability not relevant, you just have to be able to play the songs very tightly and have a good time doing so.
IMPORTANT - this band MUST gig and play regularly. There is a decent circuit and demand in the UK for cover and tribute bands, so let's make the most of it. And perhaps even make a few bob to supplement our incomes too?
God bless.
