Can anyone recommend some gear to purchase for a No Age type guitar sound? In particular like that on 'Every Artist Needs a Tragedy'?

I heard he uses a Behringer VD-400 for delay and the swells at the beginning, but does anyone have anything specific regarding guitars, amps, other pedals, etc? Is the Behringer any good?
