Members required for lo-fi sounds; early Fall, Flying Saucer Attack, Times New Viking, No Age, Wavves...
Hello there,
I'm looking for others to work with in view of creating a lo-fi noise-pop band.
Previously I've released a couple of low-key records on small labels with my last band (the first of which got DiS's 'Single of the Week' accolade, which was nice) and I'd like to do it again. Total DIY with numbered CDs really appeals to me, although a proper release is always exciting - just as long as it's interesting material. Whichever way, I'd like to release stuff again as soon as I can.
Some of the groups I really like are: Wavves, Wire, Flying Saucer Attack, Brian Eno, A Sunny Day In Glasgow, The Fall, Apparat, No Age and Times New Viking. I've recently been enjoying listening to Kurt Vile too, who no-one seems to have heard of but yet makes excellent records. Anyway, I'm mainly a guitarist but I also have a few synths, a bass and some cobbled software.
Here are some half-finished demos I've done recently: www.myspace.com/herculeantask
Basically, I'm really keen on a lo-fi sound, feedback, tape loops and ambient recordings, and the kind of bands listed...if this is something you'd be interested in, please get in touch.
