I've recently created this blog:
http://everythingisblooming.blogspot.com/
I aim to review unsigned musicians producing idiosyncratic, inspired and inspiring music.
You can then quote my reviews on your MySpace, press materials, etc.
PLEASE look at the reviews on my blog to see what I consider to be "idiosyncratic, inspired and inspiring".
Presently there are two reviews of works with elements of ambient and drone music; this is simply because they have been the best works I have found so far rather than because these are the only types of music I wish to review.
Hence, I also consider the following names to be relevant:
John Coltrane, Steve Reich, My Bloody Valentine, Cocteau Twins, Sonic Youth, Albert Ayler, Ornette Coleman, Wolfgang Voigt (i.e. Gas, Studio 1, etc.), Beatles, Beach Boys, African Folk/Pop/Rock, Early 20th century Blues, Crazy-Insane 1980's drum machine HIP-HOP like Run-DMC and Cool J, Don Cherry, Joanna Newsom, Stooges, Ramones, Suicide, Clipse, Serge Gainsbourg, The Neptunes, Melt Banana, Public Enemy, (early 2000s) Cat Power, Panda Bear, Sufjan Stevens, Indic Classical/Folk like Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, 'Metal Machine Music', noise, melody, melodic noise, etc.
What links all of these names and the musicians I have so far reviewed is invention, doing one's own thing rather than following trends or genres; PLEASE bear this in mind.
While I won't review things I don't like, sending me music that's irrelevant to the blog wastes my time and yours.
So, with this in mind, you can send links to your music and whatever details you wish to provide via this ad, the blog or via MySpace at www.myspace.com/blossomandsurrender
