London Punk Rock Band, Mark III
Howdy, I would like to start a Punk/Glam/Horror Rock band in London.
I am looking to have a drummer, a bassist, a guitarist and a singer. I can do the guitar or vocal parts, and the bass parts once I get a bass which will be my birthday.
I write songs and have played guitar for just under 3 years.
I am interested in dedicated musicians with an emphasis on music theory and good rhythm rather than being able to play 20.8 NPS. Songwriting and backing vocals is a bonus.
Primary Influences include bands such as: Ramones (short songs), Misfits (songwriting, heavy sound), Clash (earlier albums dictate guitar style, no solos but fills thrown in), Buzzcocks (high octane with vibrato fill bits), NY Dolls (but faster and better quality of songwriting) and Dead Kennedys (important vocal influence, guitar player does not need to be able to be as good as east bay ray) Pistols (vocal style but not music style as much), Tiger Army
Other smaller influences include: Sham 69, Motley Crue (but not long songs tho), The Ventures, T Rex, Sabbath, Bad Religion, Stooges, Cockney Rejects, MC5, some of Madness' better songs, the Specials, Stray Cats, Balzac
Not really all that interested in: Shred, Grunge, Nu Metal, Emo or Led Zep type stuff
