Birmingham? Suing
Hello, we're Ace Bushy Striptease and we're a band from Birmingham and unfortunately we've just lost our singer to fencing commitments and System of a Down lyrics which is pretty crap but we're looking to fight through it.
I think what we're kind of aiming to sound like is Gay For Johnny Depp but with more of a Pavement bedside manner if that makes any sense. We like Miss Black America and All Girl Summer Fun Band and Radiohead. We have some songs where we all shout about stuff but yeah we had written other songs which leant themselves more to proper singing and melody and sentances maybe.
Our old singer was a girl and while it would be awesome to have a female voice in the band again, we wouldn't be too hung up if it was a guy. It's be cool if you could play some keys or something live but then again not essential. It'd also be good if you could write your own lyrics and they are good because it's crap putting words into someones mouth and we'd rather have someone who contributes more than just a toothy grin and a warble now and then. We value enthusiasm over technical ability and yeah we just want to play some shows and make friends with other bands who play shows and then maybe we can play shows together.
We were supposed to be going into the studio at the end of this month with Dom from Sunset Cinema Club but I don't know if that is going to happen any more, depends on if we find anyone quick enough. We have got a gig booked on the 3rd of May which we shall be playing with or without a new singer but obviously it'd be much more fun with someone else.
Oh we have a Myspace but it is pretty much just instrumental meanderings at the moment, nothing that we played live in our last show. Incidently we're getting a recording of our last show back this week sometime so if you want to hear what we sound like more than yeah we can send you that when we get it. http://myspace.com/acebushystriptease
Have a lovely day. I hope you join our band, we're really nice.
Sorry for the all-over-the-place post.
