Ok. Here we are. I am 29 years of age. I have gone through very, very many years of adoring lots of music. When I was a teenager I decided, in a teenagery type of way, that I didn't like the Smiths. But really I have known for a long time, because of friends whose music taste I respect and other things, that I would one day adore this band.

Yes here it is. I have never listened to a Smiths album, almost I think because I wanted to save them. I saw on BBC4 tonight them doing Bigmouth Strikes Again so I have stolen The Queen is Dead from Soulseek. I always guessed there would be a time when I would become obsessed by this band and I am posting this now in those first gasps of anticipation. It is exciting.
