Later With Jools Holland
Am I alone in finding this programme completely odious? Bar the odd great moment (At The Drive-in especially, particularly the half-look on Robbie Williams, or Van Morrison's -or whoever it was they moved onto after the ATDi songs- face) everything about it winds me up a treat. Every show follows a formula. There's always the indy/rock band du jour (usually the only good bit). There's always the dreadfull world music to show the diversity of the BBC. Always the chit-chat with the minor celebrities (who always seems to be that guy off Cold Feet/Yellow Pages ads). Always Jools ruining some song with his offensive plinky-plonky piano. Even the 'spontaineous' jam at the start seems so forced and contrived. Jools himself is one of the smuggest people to grace our televisions screens.
and still i watch it every week.
