Pop-Punk Matures?

fullerov [Edit] [Delete] 01:30, 13 May '04
Why are so many Pop-punk bands making albums with the (admittedly admirable)intentions of diversifying their fanbase?. Last year we had Blink with the at times awkward but largely succesful eponymous album. There was also one of the best albums of 2003 (in my opinion) fom Brand New in Deja Entendu, which was far more sophisticated than Your Favourite Weapon. Now we have the new NFG album Catalyst in which they have allegedly developed a new 'Hardcore' direction, and if Rolling Stone is to be believed Good Charlotte plan a similair move. Why is this? any suggestions?
